Minorities in a globalised world. Continuity and change
Many people have within the last 25-30 years become minorities in their own countries. As their societies have been pulled into global processes, these global worlds have become unavailable to a large number of people.

Many of our researchers have witnessed the process of the further marginalisation through the globalisation forces in Africa, Latin-America, South-East Asia and Melanesia. We aim to use the anthropological insights into the difficult situation many minorities find themselves in through this research area which has continuity and change as its foci. We will look at this field through the categories of "culture", "gender", "social change", "development" and "fieldwork".
